There is a need for a greater collaboration between the academic world and the industry in India and DWIH New Delhi works towards bridging this gap. India is home to a large number of German companies and good academic and research institutions with an interest in Germany and German innovation. Artificial Intelligence

Applications of Artificial Intelligence are expected to contribute to future economic growth and help tackling societal and environmental challenges. While Japans Artificial Intelligence Technology Strategy was already published by the Strategic Council for AI Technology in 2017, a Strategy for Germany is currently in the making. The DWIH Tokyo facilitates discussions and networking between key actors in Germany and Japan on applied AI in learning & education, in health care, mobility and connected industries.

Leibniz Lecture on the science of feelings and emotions

At the Leibniz Lectures in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, renowned neuroscientist Professor Michael Brecht presents the results of his research into the effects of physical touch on the brain. Brecht received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2012 for his original research approaches and innovative methods.

Cooperation agreement: Brazil and Europe move closer together in science, technology and innovation

On 22 May, Brazil and the European Union signed an agreement in Brussels to collaborate more closely in research and innovation. The agreement will allow partnerships to be intensified in fields such as tropical medicine, sustainable biofuels, safer aircraft and 5G technologies.
